Wide angle view of the caldera with the concentric terraces and the lava lake during the day. The 1977 high level of the lake correspond to the discontinuous narrow terrace visible in the upper walls in the left, the 2002 level of the lake is the large terrace covered with yellow-brownish deposit (pele's hair and weathered lapilli). The lake itself has risen by about 50 meters compared to 2006-7. (Photo: Tom Pfeiffer)
